CLEARWATER CEO SPEAKS ABOUT TOURISM AND TAX ISSUES FACING TAMPA BAY

by 352admin 4. October 2011 08:30
Ken Lucci Joins Clearwater Chamber of Commerce Executive Roundtable

CLEARWATER, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2011) – Ambassador Limousine & Sedan, Inc. (ALS), the largest and most diverse ground transportation provider in West Central Florida, continues to prove their name as a trusted business partner throughout the region. On Tuesday, Ambassador Limousine President and CEO Ken Lucci addressed the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce in an executive roundtable about tourism challenges within the greater Tampa Bay area along with recommendations on how to stimulate local business growth.

Lucci, who recently secured the two largest RNC and DNC transportation contracts, represented private transportation companies and advocated the need for a true regional public transportation system including rail and consolidated bus service. In addition, he encouraged regional branding and marketing of Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa as complete destination.
“To be successful, we must depend on one another,” said Lucci. “Tampa needs Clearwater and St. Pete’s beaches as does Clearwater and St. Pete need Tampa’s facilities. We have it all if we can work together.”

In addition to tourism concerns, Lucci addressed the growing trend in unregulated taxi and car services which operate with subcontractors who should be classified as employees.

“These companies are violating ethical business practices,” asserted Lucci. “Not only are they jeopardizing public safety but their people are being unfairly compensated and the state is losing millions in payroll and unemployment taxes.”

Lucci also spoke about this practice in an interview on WFLA radio last week saying he was concerned that current tax policy will only drive more businesses to operate in this manner.

“Legislatures in this economy need to not focus on successful businesses but rather the illegal entities who exploit the laws as they are written for the sake of making a buck,” noted Lucci.
Lucci has already been asked to share these executive recommendations with tourism officials during a conference call next month.

Ken Lucci Featured on the Cover of the Gulf Coast Business Review

by 352admin 1. October 2011 08:28
Ambassador Limousine President, Ken Lucci, is featured in a cover photo and full page feature report in this week's Gulf Coast Business Review !

Ken continues his amazing charity work within the Tampa Bay community. His next role: A Celebrity Dancer in tonight's Dancing with the Stars Tampa Bay. He'll be doing the Tango… and says rehearsals have been humbling so far.

This is one of those rare chances when you get to see a CEO put himself out there to fulfill his mission: 10% of his company's sales to charity each year. That time is what's really significant. It's more than writing a check but rather giving a part of yourself for the good of others.

Tampa Among Most Visited US Cities - Transportation is the First Impression

by 352admin 16. September 2011 08:25
A recent Tampa Bay Business Journal article sites Tampa as one of the nation's top 25 most visited cities.

Yet while demand may be up, prices are down. The average price for a Tampa hotel room was the cheapest of the top 25, at just $82.18 a night.

How do we change this? Travel expert and Ambassador Limousine President Ken Lucci has extensively researched the marriage between hospitality and transportation. Check out his expert insight:

"In the world of hospitality, the journey and destination are intimately linked. Considerations regarding location, attractions and resort services often drive reservations. Unfortunately, poor transportation to, from and during a stay can stifle a hotel’s repeat customers from booking in the future.

It’s a small detail but one sure not to be overlooked. And travel concierges across the country are increasingly looking to separate themselves from the competition by focusing on the marriage between hospitality and transportation.

As a result, the philosophy of “getting there” is no longer a necessity but rather an amenity, the same sort of chocolates on the pillow and high-thread-count sheets you expect from five-star destinations. Good enough isn’t enough when it comes to transportation. Taxis are giving way to town cars and transportation is top of mind.

Not only is quality important but consistency in product delivery stands paramount. And while many hotels rely on a myriad of limo companies, those seeking elite status are increasingly partnering with one exclusive transportation provider. Such a relationship fosters several advantages including consistent and reliable vehicles, chauffeurs who mirror the mission of the resort, and a single executive point of contact to further expand and sustain this mutual exchange of brands and services.

Ambassador Limousine in Tampa is the trusted brand of the most elite resorts in the Greater Tampa Bay area including The Sandpearl and Saddlebrook Resorts in Clearwater and Tampa, respectively, along with the Vinoy Renaissance in St. Petersburg.

Eric Waltz, General Manager of The Sandpearl Resort notes, “Ambassador has an understanding of the kind of clientele we deal with. They act as almost an extension or arm of the hotel, which reflects the Sandpearl’s reputation. We know Ambassador is in line with our standards and expectations.”

Branding happens gradually and is most effective when the messaging is repeated. And transportation is thus a natural parallel to the overall impression left on a guest, perhaps the last chance a hotel has to impress their brand.

“Transportation can further elevate the level of service top resorts can offer their guests and help encourage other travelers to choose this brand for their next business trip or family vacation,” says Ken Lucci, President of Ambassador Limousine.

The Vinoy Renaissance signed a five-year deal with Ambassador this Spring, hoping to further attract new customers.

“All of this has allowed us to position ourselves better in the market, and provides us with an enhancement that is not offered at the majority of our local competitors", said Tim Reuther, Director of Event Management at the Vinoy Renaissance Resort."
